Be Very Afraid II

Americans use polls for everything. The funny thing about polls and the statistics that validate them is the number of participants, called the "universe", used to draw conclusions. Day to day, many polls use a Universe of as little as 1,000 to tell us how we believe and who is going to be our next President. And the statisticians wax poetic about the "error" rate of 3 to 4% from the actual "presumed" belief of the majority of Americans. Great weight is given to these polls by our leftist propagandists in their attempt to sway the debate in their direction. They do it mainly by the words they use in the questions asked.

So the polls of many of the contentious issues of the day are manipulated by the media and their in-thought collectivist servants in the polling community who are not above shading the poll for a buck. However, when more important issues come up, the universe is expanded and the error rate goes down. For example the monthly unemployment rate is a sample of 60,000 households and its error rate is about 1%. Many on the left dispute that poll while religiously trumpeting the results of their micro polls.

So when I woke this morning to read my collectivist AOL news (I can't avoid it as it is the pop up home page), I find the following tragedy of an article and poll.

Gypsy Taub, a mother of three from Oakland, does not believe that 9/11 happened. At least not the way the government said it did. A Russian immigrant Taub is one of a growing number of people in the USA who are using the Internet, college campuses and pamphleteering to get the word out.

A new film being downloaded from the Internet says the Pentagon was hit by a missile fired by the military as an excuse to go to war.

Talk About It: Post Thoughts

What do you think of 9/11 conspiracy theories?
They're outrageous 74%
They're valid 26%
Total Votes: 88,741
Note on Poll Results

Although this is not a scientific poll, it is better than almost all. To this point 88,741 Americans participated. You read the question, it wasn't slanted, they merely asked what do you think about conspiracy theories such as the missile being fired by American Military at the Pentagon on 9/11 used as an excuse to go to war.

Folks, 26% of the people believe this outrageous nonsense. The collectivist, especially the communist and socialist wing of the Democrat Party and their minions in the media and academe, have deceived Americans into believing pure unadulterated treasonous lies that have created a culture of anti-Americanism that is a really big threat to the American way of life.

On May 1st., the leaders of this treasonous movement will be out in force; leading poor, uninformed and unsuspecting illegal aliens in their massive boycott in an attempt to force the majority of Americans to break the foundation of our beliefs; law and order. That is the first law of the communist manifesto, break down the beliefs of your opponent so they internally implode. And who do we have to thank for this most unpatriotic, anti-American, treasonous movement? Why, 26% of us. 26% that drank the kool aid.

But primarily thanks to the left-wing of the Democrat Party, 95% of our media and 90% of our "illiterate, illogical and unprepared" academe for this tragedy. May the Second Amendment never be challenged. Our enemies are attempting to defeat us without a shot being fired. We need the "Court of Last Resort" now more than ever; 26% of us are totally insane and bent on destroying the exceptional society we live in.

Ethnic Cleansing?

Not only is ΛΕΟΝΙΔΑΣ a native of southern California but he has cruised the Mexican coasts extensively and resided in Mexico for just under 2 years. He additionally speaks spanish and is a law enforcement veteran of 3 East Los Angeles riots. He has often been struck by the cultural dissimularities between the characters seen on spanish language television and the people with which he has come in contact. Dick McDonald offers an explanation for this:
America may be suffering from illegal immigration but Mexico has been engaging in ethnic cleansing. As a native-born resident of Los Angeles I have always known our Mexican immigrants bear scant resemblance to the television performers on Spanish TV. Our immigrants are primarily of Mayan descent with Indian features. As the latter comprise a group of poorer Mexicans, it is clear and plainly stated that Mexico, in assisting the flight of their poor to the United States, is really engaging in ethnic cleansing. It is a win-win situation for the Castilians: they get to justify their despicable bigotry of ethnic cleansing while at the same time increasing the country's second largest revenue source; the money sent home to Mexico by their immigrants here in the United States. And we just thought it was a law & order, job-filling, cost benefit issue; hardly.

Mexican society is divided into at least 3 categories: Creollos, those of pure European (Spanish) heritage, Mestizos, who are a mixture of European/Indian and or negro background and Indios who are more or less pure Indian/Mayan/Aztec blood. Most of the mojados (wetbacks) in the U.S. are Mestizos.

Crime Wave in Kuwait?

The Palestinian "Foreign Minister" has reported being the victim of a "theft™" from his hotel room in Kuwait where he is currently on a mission to solicit funds to assist in the "garbage collection" in Gaza and the West Bank.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Mahmoud al-Zahar has had $450,000 stolen from his hotel room during his current visit to Kuwait, the Itim news agency quoted the Kuwaiti media as saying Wednesday. [probably just walking around cash]

According to the report, al-Zahar had asked the Kuwaiti authorities to keep the theft under wraps, but the incident was confirmed by a security official at the hotel.

The foreign minister, a senior member of Hamas, is on a tour of Arab and Muslim countries to drum up funds after Israel suspended the transfer of tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority and Western donors cut off aid to the Hamas-led government.

The European Union and the United States have cut off direct aid to the Palestinian Authority over Hamas' refusal to recognize Israel, renounce violence and abide by previously signed peace agreements.

Itim also reported that an official at the Palestinian Finance Ministry has revealed that, despite its empty coffers, the PA has funded the trip for al-Zahar and his entourage.

Perhaps the widow Arafat could supply some cash from a few Swiss accounts to make good the shortfall.

You Can't Make This stuff Up II

The Spanish Socialist Party will introduce a bill in the Congress of Deputies calling for "the immediate inclusion of (simians) in the category of persons, and that they be given the moral and legal protection that currently are only enjoyed by human beings." The PSOE's justification is that humans share 98.4% of our genes with chimpanzees, 97.7% with gorillas, and 96.4% with orangutans.
The party will announce its Great Ape Project at a press conference tomorrow. An organization with the same name is seeking a UN declaration on simian rights which would defend ape interests "the same as those of minors and the mentally handicapped of our species."

According to the Project, "Today only members of the species Homo sapiens are considered part of the community of equals. The chimpanzee, the gorilla, and the orangutan are our species's closest relatives. They possess sufficient mental faculties and emotional life to justify their inclusion in the community of equals."

Happy Earth Day/Birthday Lenin!

Today is Earth Day – the day to celebrate conservation which has been hijacked to become the new ginned-up religion of environmentalism™, to replace the old ginned-up religion of Socialism-Marxism-Leninism-Stalinism-Maoism- and now it’s rebranded evil spawn “redistributionism”.

Earth Day Is Lenin's Birthday
Coincidence or Communism?
By: Alan Caruba

In 1955, then Soviet Premier, Nikita Krushchev ordered April 22nd be designated a day to celebrate Communism. In 1970, it was chosen to be Earth Day by Gaylord Nelson, one of the founders of the event. Those founders had 365 days from which to choose. They chose Lenin's birthday.

When Communism was imposed on Russia in 1917, the first thing it did was to outlaw the ownership of private property. Under Communism, the State owns all property and all natural resources. In recent years in the United States, the Clinton-Gore Administration has declared millions of acres of mineral and oil-rich areas to be national monuments. The U.S.government already owns more than forty percent of the nation's landmass. Individual States own property as well, bringing the total closer to fifty percent. There are measures in Congress right now that would provide a dedicated stream of funding to insure that States will purchase still more property to put off limits to any use or development. The keystone of Capitalism is the ownership of private property. The Founding Fathers felt so strongly about this the Fifth Amendment protects this right, stating that no private property shall be taken for public use without just compensation. Across the nation, however, the government has effectively "taken" private property through such devices as the Endangered Species Act that denies the use of any property on which a listed species is found. Owners of such properties effectively lose them to government control. Wetlands legislation has a similar effect on owners of private property, denying them the use of their property if it is designated a wetland. These are environmental laws.

The similarities between the philosophy and programs advocated by the Greens and totalitarian forms of government are numerous. What better way to undermine the economy of this nation than to deny its citizens the benefits of its natural resources? Even access and use of national parks is being increasingly restricted.

Today, fully a third of all federal laws and regulations are devoted to the so-called "protection of the environment." They impact property ownership and the use of all energy sources. Vast areas of the U.S., despite known, huge reserves of oil and coal, have been put off limits. Virtually no structure can be built without an environmental impact study being undertaken. [During the Clinton Administration] there were efforts to destroy dams providing hydroelectric power in the northwest, ostensibly to save salmon. In countless ways, so-called environmental laws impact our lives, even down to the amount of water one can use to flush a toilet!

Leading voices for environmental and related causes express views comparable to the Communist philosophy of total government control. In his book, "Earth in the Balance," Al Gore, Jr., has written that "Adopting a central organizing principle means embarking on an all-out effort to use every policy and program, every law and institution, every treaty and alliance, every tactic and strategy, every plan and course of action to use, in short, every means to halt the destruction of the environment." He has called for "a wrenching transformation of society" to achieve this goal of total centralized government control, the hallmark of the former Soviet system.

It is the same reason Americans are continually portrayed as materialistic capitalists who rape the earth, steal its riches, and are the cause of environmental problems around the world. Despite this, Americans remain largely unaware of the true goals of environmentalism™ while their school's textbooks are filled with Green propaganda, and their churches are infiltrated by Greens seeking to substitute earth worship to replace traditional Judeo-Christian values. U.S. entertainment and news media repeat and reinforce the Green message, and America's elected leaders, many of whom are members of the Progressive Caucus, an instrument of the Democratic Socialists of America, advance laws to achieve the goals of the Green movement.

This is why Earth Day is Lenin's birthday. It is no coincidence. It is a tribute to the ruthless founder of Soviet Communism and his goals are being fulfilled today in the guise of saving the earth from farmers, ranchers, mining, timber, oil, and chemical companies. From "urban sprawl." In short, any enterprise that seeks to utilize the earth's enormous bounty to enhance, enrich, and extend the lives of Americans and others worldwide.

Karl Marx Revisited

If one reads the platform of the Green Party of California one is struck by a sense of Deja vu that it was written by Karl Marx in 1848. It perports to be inspired by "environmentalism" but is in fact a bold statement of the collectivist/leftist movement with a leavening of luddite thinking.

The emergence of "alternative " energy sources has caused the greens to be exposed for the enemies of industrial society that they are:

According to environmentalism, there is no moral way to produce the motive power that industrial civilization requires. Large-scale power production is incompatible with environmentalism's injunction against man-made alterations to the environment. Any form of man-made power that supports industrial civilization, regardless of how little it pollutes or how few resources it uses, is immoral because it supports industrial civilization.

The greens pretend that renewable power sources, which currently supply 2% of the nation's electricity, are a gigantic untapped resource that would be able to support American prosperity. They pretend that it is only the capitalist system that prevents us from enjoying these bountiful sources of energy-energy that would enable us to live in harmony with nature, in perpetuity.

But when California's subsidies-which guaranteed renewable energy generators three times the income of conventional power producers-increased the scale of "alternative" energy in the state, the greens dropped the pretense. They have turned against geothermal, small hydroelectric, and wood-burning generators-and they are turning against wind power producers. Their sin: these generators provide 7.5% of the state's electricity needs and promised to expand with the growing demand for power.

Environmentalists ultimately object to the amount of power produced, regardless of how it is produced. The instant that any technology promises to supply power on an industrial scale, it becomes an unpardonable evil that must be stamped out by force-either by government policy or by direct action.

What are we to think about a movement that makes war on industrial-scale power generation?

In seeking to cut off the motive power of industry, environmentalism is attempting to destroy the Industrial Revolution by starving it [us] to death.

It is little wonder that the ideological refugees from the failed collectivist societies of the 20th century have gravitated toward the environmental™ and feminist™ movements.

A Sensible Policy Recomendation

In reading and seeing the bruhaha over immigration, ΛΕΟΝΙΔΑΣ heartily recomends that the U.S. adopt the following policy with regard to immigration. Having resided in the country which pursues the policy for a perion of 2 years, it is obvious that it works well.

* Immigrants and foreign visitors are banned from public political discourse.
* Immigrants and foreigners are denied certain basic property rights.
* Immigrants are denied equal employment rights.
* Immigrants and naturalized citizens will never be treated as real citizens.
* Immigrants and naturalized citizens are not to be trusted in public service.
* Immigrants and naturalized citizens may never become members of the clergy.
* Private citizens may make citizens arrests of lawbreakers (i.e., illegal immigrants) and hand them to the authorities.
* Immigrants may be expelled for any reason and without due process."

The above items are taken from the Mexican Constitution. Don’t blame Mexico for having an immigration policy more sensible than ours.

Your Government Employees at Work

A DEA agent has filed suit against the federal agency for leaking the tape presented here. Lee Paige was making a presentation to children at the Orlando Youth Minority Golf Association on April 9, 2004, when he shot himself. Moments before the shooting, the 14-year agency veteran was displaying his firearm and telling students he was the only one in the room professional enough to handle a gun. He stated later that he "had cleared the chamber of the Glock 40 but forgot to release the magazine". A real pro! Earth to agent: 1. release magazine. 2. clear chamber. 3. do not point weapon at your foot.

Paige, a former player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, said he can't work undercover anymore because of the tape. Which causes ΛΕΟΝΙΔΑΣ, who on occasion has worked under cover, to raise a couple of questions: What is a person as recognizable as a professional football player doing working "under cover"? What is an "under cover" agent doing giving a lecture to a group of ordinary citizens? Or for that matter, why is an "under cover" CIA "operative" parking her car in the employee's lot at Langley , VA?

Just curious.

"We're Against Nukes (except Iran's)"

Given the quality of public education these past couple of decades in the greater part of the U.S. it can be no surprise that the leftists can get away with the blatant hypocracy of violently opposing the use of nuclear energy for supplying the power generation needs of the west while mindlessly defending the development of same in Iran. Iran sits atop a generous portion of the worlds petroleum and gas (a "clean" source of power generation) reserves but avers that it is pursuing nuclear enrichment for "peacefull" purposes. Most of the green wackos who would support virtually ANY means to prevent the construction of nuclear power plants in the United States are screaming to the rooftops in order to preclude any action on the part of the U.S. in preventing Iran's membership in the nuclear "club". Click on the square in the upper left to view the position of one such leftist orginization in the UK.

The Choices are: Bad and Worse. Thank You Jimmy Carter

In City Journal, Mark Steyn has a column that pretty much states the pass that we have come to. Leonidas hopes you will read the whole thing as only the salient parts are quoted here:

Even a loser can win when he’s up against a defeatist. A big chunk of Western civilization, consciously or otherwise, has given the impression that it’s dying to surrender to somebody, anybody. Reasonably enough, Islam figures: Hey, why not us? If you add to the advantages of will and manpower a nuclear capability, the odds shift dramatically.
What, after all, is the issue underpinning every little goofy incident in the news, from those Danish cartoons of Mohammed to recommendations for polygamy by official commissions in Canada to the banning of the English flag in English prisons because it’s an insensitive “crusader” emblem to the introduction of gender-segregated swimming sessions in municipal pools in Puget Sound? In a word, sovereignty. There is no god but Allah, and thus there is no jurisdiction but Allah’s.
Diplomatic missions are recognized as the sovereign territory of that state, and the violation thereof is an act of war. No one in Washington has to fret that Fidel Castro will bomb the U.S. Interests Section in Havana. Even in the event of an actual war, the diplomatic staff of both countries would be allowed to depart.
Yet Iran seized protected persons on U.S. soil and held them prisoner for over a year—ostensibly because Washington was planning to restore the shah. But the shah died and the hostages remained. And, when the deal was eventually done and the hostages were released, the sovereign territory of the United States remained in the hands of the gangster regime. Granted that during the Carter administration the Soviets were gobbling up real estate from Afghanistan to Grenada, it’s significant that in this wretched era the only loss of actual U.S. territory was to the Islamists.
As a female Muslim demonstrator in Toronto put it: “We won’t stop the protests until the world obeys Islamic law.”
If, say, Norway or Ireland acquired nuclear weapons, we might regret the “proliferation,” but we wouldn’t have to contemplate mushroom clouds over neighboring states. In that sense, the civilized world has already lost: to enter into negotiations with a jurisdiction headed by a Holocaust-denying millenarian nut job is, in itself, an act of profound weakness—the first concession, regardless of what weaselly settlement might eventually emerge.

Torture at Club Gitmo

This is another horror story of Bush's torture camp on Castro's worker's paradise island in the Caribbean:

On January 29, Asadullah and two other juvenile prisoners were returned home to Afghanistan. The three boys are not sure of their ages. But, according to the estimate of the Red Cross, Asadullah is the youngest, aged 12 at the time of his arrest. The second youngest, Naqibullah, was arrested with him, aged perhaps 13, while the third boy, Mohammed Ismail, was a child at the time of his separate arrest, but probably isn't now.

Tracked down to his remote village in south-eastern Afghanistan, Naqibullah has memories of Guantanamo that are almost identical to Asadullah's. Prison life was good, he said shyly, nervous to be receiving a foreigner to his family's mud-fortress home.

The food in the camp was delicious, the teaching was excellent, and his warders were kind. "Americans are good people, they were always friendly, I don't have anything against them," he said. "If my father didn't need me, I would want to live in America."

Where is the UN "Human Rights" commission when they are needed?

Border Stuff

Leonidas, having spent much time in Mexico as well as other Spanish speaking countries found this forwarded email as an open letter to President Bush amusing enough to reproduce here:

MR. PRESIDENT, I'M HEADED TO MEXICO

David M. Bresnahan
April 1, 2006
NewsWithViews.com
Dear President Bush: I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this. I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following: 1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.

11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and dont enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy. I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely. However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P. Thank you so much for your kind help. Sincerely, David M. Bresnahan

The officials along the southern border of Mexico with Guatamala are not nearly as user friendly as the U.S. BorderPatrol.
