Blitzkreig?

The cacophony we have been subjected to by the leftist media since the opening of Israel's operation Cast Lead which began local time 11:30 a.m., 27 December 2008 is nothing if not predictable.

Between 1 January 2008 and 27 December 2008 over 3000 rockets were launched at Israel by HAMAS from Gaza. During the same period more than 1300 mortar rounds were also launched. These attacks resulted in 8 Israeli deaths as well as considerable damage to property and infrastructure. The "minimal" damage to Israel caused by these attacks is only due to the lack of HAMAS' capability of inflicting greater harm to citizens of the "Zionist Entity". Lest we forget, the chief objective of HAMAS is the extinguishing of the Israeli state and the murder of all jews and other infidels.

It is interesting to note the propensity of the leftist media and punditry to condemn Israel for actions to defend and protect its citizens from extermination by an avowed enemy while at the same time never countenancing such an attack on their own secure environment by an equally determined enemy.

In view of Mr. Scheer's statement:

While the Hamas rocket attacks are reprehensible, they are also an ineffectual challenge to Israel’s enormous security apparatus, and the severity of Israel’s response to them is counterproductive.

How long does Mr. Scheer believe any government can survive without taking action to protect its citizens from external aggression?

In addition to noting that "Israel's enormous security apparatus..." is meaningless unless engaged in defense of that nation, let us engage in an intellectual experiment: Suppose that a Mexican irredentist movement dedicated to the elimination of US sovereignty in California and the murder of all "gringos" were to come to power in the Mexican state of Baja California Norte. Suppose also that members of this movement began launching rockets and mortars from Tijuana into the populated areas of San Ysidro and San Diego in southern California causing casualties and property damage. Suppose further that over a period of more than 3 years the Mexican Federal government failed to control or eliminate these irredentist "militants". How long does one suppose that these leftist "journalists" and "pundits" such as Robert Scheer (a contributing editor to Nation Magazine and a "Nation Fellow") and "conservative" Patrick Buchanan would be clamoring for forceful "action" to end the terrorism? In the case of Mr. Scheer, I suspect, never: but as for Mr. Buchanan who characterizes Israeli actions as a "blitzkrieg" it would probably be measured in hours.

Please remember dear reader that HAMAS, since its inception in 1987 has been dedicated to not only the elimination of the Israeli state, but the murder of ALL "infidels". This includes YOU, Joe sixpack as well as the chablis and brie set.

Impeachment Anyone??

A de facto state of war has existed between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States for over 28 years. Congress was not called into session by President Carter to issue a formal declaration; nevertheless the invasion and subsequent occupation of the U.S. embassy (sovereign U.S. territory) in Tehran was an act of war. Iran continues to wage war on the U.S. by materially assisting the Taliban along its border with Afghanistan as well as the Al Quaida insurgents in Iraq. Although President Bush has occasionally talked tough to the Islamic theocracy, political considerations have thus far precluded any overt military actions.
Today's news of riots in Iran over the implementation of gasoline rationing emphasizes the paradox of a theocracy rejecting western culture with its technological advantages in favor of enforcing Islamic sharia law. While sitting atop major petroleum reserves, the Islamic Republic of Iran is unable to produce adequate supplies of motor fuel for its domestic needs. Some Members of the Majlis (Iranian Parliament) are blaming the U.S. for the riots

Some MPs denied that the rioting on Tuesday and Wednesday had anything to do with the government's rationing measures. "The attacks on the petrol pumps were organized well in advance by 'agents provocateurs' working for the US government, who incited some deranged individuals to set petrol stations alight," Morteza Tamaddon told journalists.

He also claimed that thousands of counterfeit dollars had been paid to these 'deranged individuals'.

While the government in Tehran insists on contributing to the destabilization of Lebanon and the Arab territories of the west bank, Gaza and the northern Israeli border and proceeding to acquire nuclear weapons in order to increase its mischief making capabilities, it remains extremely vulnerable to a potential enemy who would attack its refining capacity.

I submit that as the mullahs have expressed their intention to "remove Israel from the map" and attack the U.S. (great satan) at any opportunity, either nation is justified in taking strategic military action especially in view of the de facto state of war that continues. The political repercussions could not be on a magnitude greater than presently exist due to the global left's hatred of President Bush and consequently the U.S. If one is going to be hung any way what does it matter whether as a sheep or a goat?

Such a scenario is however, unlikely as Mr. Bush today announced his intention to appoint an envoy to one of the world’s most implacable hate-filled groups, the Organization of the Islamic Conference while standing unshod in a mosque in the capital. The following is an excerpt from Bush's speech:

I will appoint a special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference. This is the first time a President has made such an appointment to the OIC. (Applause.) Our special envoy will listen to and learn from representatives from Muslim states and will share with them America’s views and values. This is an opportunity for Americans to demonstrate to Muslim communities our interest in respectful dialogue and continued friendship.

Read more at Gates of Vienna if you have the stomach. It is as yet unknown if Bush brought his own prayer rug for the ceremonies or if this "envoy" will require Senate confirmation. That debate could prove interesting. All of this while at the same time attempting to ram through an amnesty for 12+ million illegal alien immigrants.

Mosque and State: Inseparable

There are many U.S. citizens who daily go about their lives in blissful oblivion to a process that is slowly but inexorably overtaking our society. Few "educated" members of society, due mostly to the government controlled schools, realize that the operable document that established our nation over 200 years ago, the much "revered" Constitution is more or less a dead letter. One flagrant example of this is the routine violation of the Second Amendment whose operative phrase "....the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Tell this to the residents of our nation's capitol, New York City or Chicago.

Most of us are aware of the separation of church and state that has been interpreted by the courts to remove all trappings of Judeo Christian religion from the public domain. There is however, a movement gaining momentum to establish a state recognized, eventually mandated religion. Islam.

One of these recent submissions to Islam involves a Minneapolis Target store. Muslim Target checkers refuse to scan any pork products. Due to the recent Muslim cab driver flap, one can only assume this refusal-to-touch-or-scan also applies to any products containing alcohol. Instead of advising the Target Muslim checkers that scanning pork is part of their jobs, Target accommodated their demands. The retail giant has either transferred the Muslims to other duties or a non-Muslim employee is called to scan the items. Question: Are Jewish Target employees afforded the same treatment, when they must handle pork? The answer is, of course, no. Singular privilege applies only to Muslims.


Another surrender to Muslims’ demands was recently announced by Minneapolis Community & Technical College. In what appears to be a direct violation of the US Supreme Court’s Justice Black 1947 interpretation of “separation of church and state”, the college has allocated tax-payer funds to build on campus foot washing basins for Muslims preparing for prayer. The school is also said to be involved in negotiations with Minneapolis’ Muslim leaders to, also, establish an on-campus Muslim prayer room. Of note is that Christian symbols and celebrations are banned on this campus but, the Islamic Muslim religion is now embraced and given—yet again—“special privileges.” Separation of “mosque and state” does not apply.


Questions: Does anyone see a developed pattern of capitulation to Islam in the state of Minnesota? Will Minnesota cities, as have already been implemented in Michigan cities, soon have calls to Islamic prayer broadcast to their citizens?

Another example of the Islamic strategy to eventually install their own religious laws, which will trump and replace US laws, within the USA involves MAS’ Washington DC based Muslim Accommodations Task Force (MATF). MATF states its mission as: “To help make campuses more “Muslim-friendly” by documenting existing religious accommodations and facilitating emerging ones. Over time, we will be able to rank colleges and universities on “Muslim-friendliness” and publicize our findings in the media and publications.

Although the provision of special religious accommodations is legally disallowed by colleges and universities they are, nonetheless, being implemented by these schools. Is this simply another example of our leftist-bent school system applying laws only if it agrees with them? It appears so. As we have viewed for several decades, all things Christian are being removed and banned. However, all things Islam are now being embraced—in violation of US law. But, after Islamic fundamentalist Shari’a law is installed in our court system—US law will be moot.

The leftist controlled academia and media, due to their commitment to multiculturalism and cultural Marxism are complicit in advancing the destruction of our republic.

A Nobel Prize?

The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice — the group of senior Islamic clergy that reigns supreme on all legal, civil, and governance matters in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has banned the letter X.

The commission's damning of the letter "X" came in response to a Ministry of Trade query about whether it should grant trademark protection to a Saudi businessman for a new service carrying the English name "Explorer."

"No! Nein! Nyet!" was the commission's categorical answer.

Why?

Well, never mind that none of the so-called scholars manning the upper ranks of the religious outfit can speak or read a word of English. But their experts who examined the English word "explorer" were struck by how suspicious that "X" appeared. In a kingdom where Friday preachers routinely refer to Christians as pigs and infidel crusaders, even a twisted cross ranks as an abomination.

So after waiting a year, the Saudi businessman, Amru Mohammad Faisal, got his answer: No. But, like so many other Saudi businessmen who suffer from the travesties of the commission, he seemed more baffled than angry. He wrote letters to Saudi newspapers to criticize the cockamamie logic. An article he wrote appeared with his photograph on some Arabian Web sites. It sarcastically invited the commission to expand its edict to the "plus" sign in mathematics and accounting, in order "to prevent filthy Christian conspiracies from infiltrating our thoughts, our beliefs, and our feelings."

Among the commission's deeds is the famed 1974 fatwa — issued by its blind leader at the time, Sheik Abdul Aziz Ben Baz — which declared that the Earth is flat and immobile.
